Who am I? I’m Oliver Reeves!
I’m an Australian Geek. I live in Brisbane, Queensland which is about half-way up the east coast of Australia. I live with my wife and son, Amy and Marley, in a small townhouse which we’re looking to move out of as soon as we’ve found the right place to buy. The market for housing here in Australia is currently insane. Prices are extremely high and interest rates are constantly going up, so the task of finding a good place which isn’t going break the bank is quite a challange.
In case it’s not obvious I work in I.T., generally doing some form of Sofware Engineering/Development. I’m now working for a consultancy, specialising in Microsoft Solutions and Technologies. In the past I’ve been lucky enough to work in quite a few areas of software development including web applications, voice over IP, games and visualisation.
I started this blog up for a few reasons. The first is that I like to rant to the ether. The second is that I think there are lots of people out there who would enjoy reading what I’m saying, and I think I’ll enjoy reading what they have to say in response. The third is that the information that is shared through this blogging mechanism will allow me to learn a lot more about a plethora of topics. I’ll probably be talking mainly about geek stuff, but no doubt I’ll throw in some funnies, some stuff to do with being in Australia, and other bits and pieces about sport and life in general.
