Facebook Privacy

Thursday May 17thPrivacy Category

A good friend of mine by the name of passed on this little nugget of information through his Facebook profile. It reads:

Apparently Facebook has started letting other websites access user information (surprise, surprise!) to third parties. They call it the “Facebook Development Platform.”
To restrict use of your information, do the following:

  1. Click “Privacy” on top right.
  2. Under the “Facebook Platform” section click “Edit Settings”.
  3. Scroll down and UNCHECK ALL of the items under Facebook Platform.

Most creepy is the inclusion of photographs!
(Do your friends a favor and repost this as your own note.)

So, if you’re a Facebook user, do yourself a favour and protect your privacy!

Facebook?!? What a load of rubbish! I got your invite, which it obviously sends to your entire addressbook - as evidenced by the fact that in the last few weeks I’ve had nothing but spam from everyone I know asking me to sign up. I have duely ignored your invite as I have everyone elses. This is clearly another exercise in gathering private information about people, and this blog post of yours proves it. I seriously don’t have time for this sh*t!

On another note….how you doing mate? :-) New banner up top also sucks! ;-)

Things are going well here mate, lots going on as per usual. Haven’t seen you online for ages!

Yeah, the banner is pants - or was! Now it’s been replaced with something a little better :) (and yes, you’re right, I didn’t create it).
